Provo Municipal Airport — September 10, 2025 records: one morning inspection report released, city says it has nothing else
What we asked for: for Provo Municipal Airport on September 10, 2025: (1) the airfield operations log, daily operations report, or airport manager's log; (2) any record of a low approach, go-around, overflight complaint, or other unusual flight activity that day; (3) records of visiting aircraft, landings, fuel sales, or activity reported by the airport's service company; and (4) any messages between airport or city staff and any federal agency about that day's airport operations.
What we got: one record, and a denial form for the rest. The record is airfield inspection #2912, a routine night inspection logged at 5:35 a.m. that morning. Every item on it — pavement, markings, signs, lighting, navigation aids, fencing, wildlife — is marked “SAT” (satisfactory); the only note is “Bulbs changed 18” on runway lighting. In the city's internal emails, the airport operations staff member wrote that this was “the only document that meets the criteria.” The denial form lists all four items and checks the box “The agency does not have this record,” citing Utah Code § 63G-2-201(7) (an agency does not have to create a record to answer a request).
Appeal: the form gives 30 days to appeal to Mayor Marsha Judkins, through the Provo City Attorney's Office.
